Deniz Sözen is a multidisciplinary artist, researcher and educator whose work spans artist moving image, sound, installation, expanded sculpture and digital archival practice.

Working across media, her practice explores questions of diaspora, memory, identity, belonging and more-than-human worlds through experimental moving image, installation and socially engaged methodologies. Combining artistic research with decolonial archival strategies, her work investigates how histories of migration, displacement and cultural memory continue to shape contemporary forms of representation, community and belonging.

She studied Fine Art in Vienna and at Goldsmiths, University of London, and completed a practice-based PhD at CREAM (Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media), University of Westminster. Her work has been exhibited, screened and presented internationally across artistic, academic and public contexts.

Alongside her  artistic practice, she is  an experienced lecturer, writer and mentor across Fine Art, artistic research, diaspora art history and interdisciplinary arts education.
